Seperate the eggs into egg yolks and egg whites

This is what the egg yolk and sugar mixture should
look like

The egg whites should be stiff enough to be able
to lift the bowl upside down

Add the melted chocolate to the egg yolks and sugar

Stir together

Add in the egg whites

And the cocoa powder

Bake for 15 minutes in a tray

For the icing, measure out the icing sugar and
butter

Week Seven - Chocolate Birthday Cake

Week Seven - Chocolate Birthday Cake

This week it was my friend Chloe's birthday. As part of her birthday present, I baked her a Harry Potter themed cake.

Here are all of the ingredients

First, cream together the sugar and butter

Add the flour

Crack the eggs into a seperate bowl and whisk
together

Add the eggs into the flour, butter and sugar

Add the cocoa powder and mix together

Line two baking tins with butter and greaseproof paper

Bake for 15-20 minutes

Leave to cool

Weigh out the sugar
To make the icing:
Add the butter

Add vanilla essence, mix and then split into two seperate
bowls (about 3/4 and 1/4)
Add pink food colouring to one and green to the other
Cover the bottom layer with pink icing

Sandwich the two cakes together

Cover the entire cake with pink icing

Keep it looking rustic rather than making it
smooth

Pipe the green icing on to write "Happee Birthdae ______"
spelt just like it is in the movie
